The Endocrinology Pediatric Bone Program, a part of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, is committed to the care and services for children with bone disease. Its mission is to develop, implement and promote innovative and effective strategies to improve outcomes for children with both common and rare metabolic bone disorders. The team of bone specialists also has expertise in caring for children with genetic and acquired bone disease.

It focuses on patient care, clinical research and patient-family advocacy to provide its patients the most comprehensive care possible at one location. Many diseases are treated here such as rickets, hypophosphatasia, osteopetrosis, paget’s disease, and many more.

The organization’s current research initiatives include two on-going Clinical Trials treating adults and children suffering from X-Linked Hypophosphatemia (XLH) with a drug that is on its way to FDA approval and possibly becoming the new gold standard in XLH treatment.
